Frequently Asked Questions

Details about our IBC tote recycling program

What types of IBC totes can you recycle?

We recycle composite IBC totes with HDPE bottles and steel cages, including units that are cracked or beyond repair.

Do you charge for recycling pickups?

Most recycling pickups are free in our service area when minimum quantities are met. We will let you know upfront if special handling fees apply.

How clean do the totes need to be?

Remove free liquids and close valves. Light residue is acceptable for standard products, but hazardous residues require pre-approval and may need triple-rinse.

Do you accept totes that held hazardous materials?

Some hazardous material containers can be accepted with proper documentation and preparation. Share the prior contents and SDS so we can confirm.

What documentation do you provide after recycling?

We can issue recycling certificates and destruction manifests so you have proof of responsible disposal for audits and compliance.

Can you combine recycling with pickups of reusable totes?

Yes. We often pick up reusable totes for buyback and recycle damaged ones in the same route to save you time.

What happens to the materials after recycling?

HDPE bottles are shredded and pelletized, steel cages go to metal recycling, and wooden pallets are mulched or refurbished. We target 99% material recovery.

Is there a minimum quantity for a recycling pickup?

We typically request at least ten totes for free pickup. Smaller quantities can be grouped with nearby stops or dropped off at our facility.

How soon can you schedule a recycling pickup?

Most pickups are scheduled within 1-3 business days, and same-day service is available in Los Angeles for urgent needs.

Can you provide containers for a swap when recycling old ones?

Yes. We can deliver replacement totes during the same visit so you have immediate inventory while older units are recycled.
